Venture Out

Blisswood is a short drive to quaint waterfront towns, close to nearly 200 nature preserves, and a short jaunt to beaches, wineries, galleries, and delightful dining options. You can choose to be as active or as idle as you wish. The surrounding woodland is lovely, leafy, and deep. Countless pleasures lie within a small radius.

Head south and explore Good Hart, Harbor Springs, Petoskey, Boyne City, Walloon, and Charlevoix. Head north and discover Cross Village and Mackinaw City. Head east you’ll find Pellston, Alanson, and Indian River. This is small town America at its best; you’ll love the nostalgia of their sidewalked streets brimming with shops and cafes waiting to be stumbled upon.

Here are a few of our favorite things to see and do in the area…

Must Visit Beaches

Readmond Township Beach
A great little beach on Lamkin Drive, 2 miles south of us on 119.

Middle Village Beach
An amazing hidden gem south on Lamkin Drive, sometimes called Church Beach as it’s located next to the St. Ignatius Mission Church.

Woollam Family Nature Preserve
3 miles north of us, you’ll find what’s arguably the most beautiful nature preserve in our area with almost 70 acres of woodlands and over 3,000 feet of Lake Michigan frontage to enjoy.

Wilderness State Park
26 miles of beautiful Lake Michigan shoreline about 12 miles north of us on Lake Shore Drive.

Sturgeon Bay
Miles of sand and dunes.
The water is always a little warmer in the bay.

Harbor Springs Zorn Street Beach
Spend the day at this favorite downtown beach and walk into town for lunch and ice cream.

Petoskey State Park
Enjoy endless sand while hunting for Petoskey stones.

Camp Petosega
Three hundred acre park on Pickerel Lake with nature trails, park, and playground.

Fisherman’s Island State Park
Locals say its unspoiled views of land and water alone make it worth the drive. Dog-friendly, too, from all we’ve heard.

Petoskey’s Break Wall
Not exactly a beach, but the teens will love taking a running leap into the refreshing Lake Michigan water.

Ocqueoc Falls
Don’t forget your water shoes! It’s a bit over an hour a way, but when else will you get the chance to swim in the lower peninsula’s largest waterfall?
